Easiest Cookies You Will Ever Make
What's better than sugar cookies? Easy to make sugar cookies! I have tried tons and tons of sugar cookie recipes and this is by far my favorite! The best part - you only need six ingredients! All in which you most likely already have in your kitchen! These are perfect for the holiday time! You can also decorate these cookies which makes a fun activity for your family/kids! :)
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 12 Minutes
Total Time: 27 Minutes
Serving Size: Approximately 25 Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Butter - Room Temp
- 1 1/2 Cups White Granulated Sugar
- 1 Egg - Room Temp
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 2 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Here's how to make them!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (or foil will work.)
Beat room temp butter (1 cup) and sugar (1 1/2 cups) together for two minutes at medium speed. Scape sides to ensure all is mixed together and beat for another minute.
Scrape sides again. Beat in egg (1) and vanilla (1 tsp) at medium speed.
Add flour (2 1/4 cups) and baking powder (1/2 tsp). Beat at low speed until all is combined. *Note: If batter is runny, continue to add more flour. You can also chill in fridge to thicken batter.*
Scrape sides again to ensure all is mixed evenly.
Scoop cookie dough with a cookie scoop. Gentry roll in a ball; then gentry press to flatten the cookie slightly.
Roll each cookie ball in white granulated sugar or sprinkle the tops with the sugar.
Place cookie dough balls on prepared cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
Bake 10-12 minutes. Let cookies cool.
Optional: Use fun cookie cutter or decorate with icing!
